Open your Learning Path
Start at Level 1. Each course has an “Open course” button that takes you to the provider's free site.
Step 3
Upload your proof
Finished a course? Paste the certificate or badge link, or upload a screenshot. A coach verifies it.
Step 4
Pass the quiz, unlock the next level
Ten questions, 80% to pass, three tries. You'll see explanations when you finish.
Tips from our coaches
- Block two 45-minute sessions a week on your calendar. Consistency beats cramming.
- Sign up for each provider with the same email you use here, so names on certificates match.
- Take notes in your own words. Quizzes test understanding, not memorized phrases.
- Use AI on a real task from your job each week. That becomes your Level 2 portfolio.
- Stuck for more than a day? Message your coach. Asking early is a skill, not a weakness.
- On a library or work computer, sign out of provider sites when you're done.
Questions
Are the courses really free?
Yes. Every course in the core path is free to take, and we choose courses whose completion certificate or badge is free too. A few optional extras charge for a certificate; we label those clearly.
Is Texas AI Academy part of Anthropic, OpenAI, Google or Harvard?
No. We're independent. We point you to each provider's free courses on their own sites, then add our own quizzes, labs, coaching, capstone and credential.
How do you know I actually learned it?
Three ways: we verify your course certificate, you pass our checkpoint quiz, and you complete a hands-on lab. At Level 4 you present a capstone live to a review panel.
What do I get at the end?
A TAA badge for every level you finish, a portfolio of real work, and at Level 4 the TAA Certified AI Practitioner credential, which employers can verify online.
How much time does it take?
Levels 1 and 2 take most people a few hours a week for about a month. The full path through the capstone takes roughly three to four months part-time.
Is it funded by the Texas Workforce Commission?
Not yet. We're working toward state workforce approval. Today the academy is open to employer teams; public enrollment comes later.
